Freak was born & raised on Chicago's northwest side spending his summers with his grandparents along the Fox River in unincorporated McHenry County. It was there that he learned the basics needed to survive in the Southland such as hunting, fishing, and fusing dynamite.
His start in radio happened by chance when he weasled a job at WTMX (yes, The Mix - 101.9FM) He hung out playing god-forsaken music by Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, & Wilson Phillips until the chance to work at The Blaze (103.5FM) surfaced and he jumped on it. The Blaze later became Rock 103.5 so he hung around and it was there that he hooked up with a new morning show called Mancow's Morning Madhouse. After 9 years in the Madhouse, The Zone (94.7FM) came about so he made the jump back into rock radio. 2 years later the Zone would be sold and Freak roamed into the studios of WRXQ where he remains today. As a resident of Elwood, he has no plans on ever working downtown again and plans on running RXQ until he opens his Roadhouse and retires.
Freak is also the Public Relations director for the Will County chapter of A.B.A.T.E. and teaches motorcycle safety in the drivers-ed program at Plainfield South H.S.
