Raven was born on the south side of Chicago, Illinois and moved to the Southland in the early nineties. Her love of rock and roll began in middle school and carried all the way to college where she began playing bass in a Rush cover band.

In 2006 she began hosting a Saturday night radio show on 89.1 WONC called Metal Oxide (take that “Metal” John!), which lead to her love of radio.
